I try very hard to not be an alarmist, but current reality means you really need to have an emergency plan in your head of what you'd do if everyone's worst-case scenario happens. There are several things that you could see happen in Illinois that might give you an early warning that a nuclear attack is imminent.

It's not exactly news that it's been a challenging year for brick and mortar retail so far in 2024, but another store is about to be closed in the next week and a half. Walmart is closing yet another store location and it will be happening soon.

You hear a lot about many types of crime in Illinois, but this is one trend it seems few want to actually discuss. The Land of Lincoln is seeing a disturbing rise in one category in particular that should never happen.

It should not be surprising to know that I was given one 'D' grade when I was in high school. I blame physics since I don't understand them. But, that's one reason why I feel qualified to be the messenger about a newly updating ranking of Illinois hospitals that now shows 15 have the lowest 'D' rating.

In case you didn't know somehow, Missouri and Illinois are located next to each other and I can prove it with a map. The reason I bring this up is there's a new forecast from Farmer's Almanac that claims Missouri and Illinois will have the complete opposite types of summer and it makes no sense to me.

Sometimes you learn things then later wish you hadn't. This is one of those for me, but it's important to get the issue out in the open so hopefully it can be dealt with and we find a way to stop it from happening in the future. Illinois has a shameful surge of rape cases that make it one of the primary problem places in America.
